Boarding for small animals

The staff at Normandale have a real love of animals and to look after them is our absolute pleasure.

No matter who our visitors are, we pride ourself on the caring, gentle attitude we take.

Small animals

We also board rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals.

They are given large, heated indoor accommodation with a diet of fresh fruit and vegetables daily, including spring greens, celery, tomatoes, cucumber, corn on the cob, sweet peppers and apple, together with good quality complete food. They have hay every day, all day and fresh bedding every day. The bedding is dust free and there's enough for them to burrow (as this is what rabbits and guinea pigs need to be able to do)

They have plenty of toys and cardboard tubes and boxes to play with.

We do not use hutches or small cages.

Here is one of the guinea pigs enjoying the sunshine in one of the attached, safe outside runs.

We have several rabbits and guinea pigs of our own here for many years, so we are very familiar with their needs.

We are happy to administer medication if necessary, at no extra cost.

And if they're used to having a cuddle ...

Nothing is spared to make their little lives happy when away from home.

Birds

We also have accommodation for pet birds to come and stay!

We have an on-site special care unit too, where orphaned and injured wild birds are cared for until release.
